Savion Saddam "Take it N' Run" Ft. Unsolved & Gemstone

Chantal Sangz

1.Where are you from?
Born in Greensboro NC, Raised in Madison NC
2.Who do you compare yourself to in the music industry?
Others have compared my style to Jill Scott, Elle Varner , Suai
3.Where do you get your inspiration from?
I grew up around music, my father is a musician who played guitar with some great famous artists and bands, in my household Marvin Gaye was played, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Bobby Womack, the Temptations to Luther, Prince, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, and Mariah Carey.Soul music, pop music, rhythm and blues, jazz and blues. So I knew early on that I wanted to make music like them. Later i took to the listening of all of these artists and more including Lauryn Hill, Brandy, Mary J Blidge etc.
4.What separates you from other independent artist?
I think what separates me from other independent artists is my humbleness and the fact that i refuse to stay in one box. I will do features with other artists of different genres and my own music will reflect more than a one dimensional side of "the woman"
5.Whats your opinion on the music industry today?
The music industry is steadily changing. Its definitely changed since I was in Middle-school and high school during the era of 90's r&b and all cultures listening to pop. I think people miss that old soul music though like Isaac Hayes and Isley Brothers.. Betty Wright even Total and silk, Boyz II Men. The ballads are gone and alot of the r&b is saturated with artists who don't put their soul in the music. R&b artists wanting to do pop and pop artists doing r&b. No real separation. Neo Soul is where its at, but there's not enough love behind it from the people.
6.Do you do anything else other than music?
Yes. I also assist in stage play directing and stage managing. I write songs (ghost write) as well. I have a passion for music thats my #1 love but I love the entertainment and arts field period. Ive helped direct music videos, and have done a little BBW modeling.
7.Where do you see yourself in the next year?
I see myself steadily striving to achieve all i have dreamed in this industry.
8.Who are some of the artists you worked with?
A few artists Ive worked with are, Kayo Bracey, Young Dirt, He Is Cj,  FTH, Ali Vegas, M. Johnson, The FatBoy, Dana Lucci, Sybil and many others. I have no problem working with other artists
9.What projects are you promoting now?
I have recorded some live versions of some of my tracks that will be on my current project From:Me To:The Radio also on the theatrical side Im directing some stage plays that include appearences by Terrell carter (Tyler Perry actors), Buffy the Body, Latonya Simms and some other great actors and actresses.

Interview by Carolina Beauty @Panamanian_Lust

Ok. First question: What is your definition of a Carolina Beauty?
A Carolina Beauty to me is a humble woman, beautiful inside, as well as outside.
We know Carolina is the south..and we're all about that southern hospitality.
So I feel like that's what women in the south are beautiful and humble.
Ok. What was your reason for starting CB?
I started this CB simply because I enjoy beautiful women. Hugh Hef is one of my
heroes true story. Lol But also its a great field to be apart of.
Interesting...So what have you learned about yourself since you started on this journey?
That I've got more patients than anybody I know. I've learned by pushing myself I can make anything
go mainstream. Carolina Beauties wasn't expected to go this far but its moving quickly.
That's great! When you aren't working with CB, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Make music about life. And cooking different dishes that I've never
tried. Rachel ray is one of my heroes too! Lol
Wow, you cooking? Didn't expect you to say that! What is it that drives you to be successful the most?
Yeah I love to cook! My drive to be successful comes from where I've
been. I've been at the bottom and seen how it effected my family. So I do it for us..so we can say
somebody made it.
That's what's up! It's good to have something that motivates you to do your best. Have you come
across any challenges so far?

Yeah a few challenges but I always keep in mind that what I'm doing is big. I'm building a part of history.
So I overlook those challenges and keep it moving forward no matter what!
Everybody has haters, do you ever get negative comments about CB or what you're trying to accomplish?
For the most part no. Everyone has been really supportive. But I know its coming soon.
That's good, it always helps to have a supportive team! 10 years from now, where do you see
Carolina Beauties?

I see it being equivalent to playboy and smooth magazine but more details included. Just a
bigger movement overall

T Walker

1.Where are you from?
I was born in Wilmington, DE and raised in Maysville/Jacksonville NC.
2.Who do you compare yourself to in the music industry?
I like what artist like Big KRIT, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, etc represent. What they create, what they have to say and the honesty in what they say on various topics is something that makes us similar as artist. I've heard I sound like andre 3000 or Joe Budden at times haha. That's awesome, but I'm not big on comparisons. I want to make a name for myself.
3.Where do you get your inspiration from?
I'm inspired by my surroundings and my life. Positive and negative. Family and friends. Im constantly reflecting, dealing with things and enjoying living...so I like painting these images for people. They can either relate or enjoy or both.
4.What seperates you from other independent artist?
I know some indie artist are waiting on or focused on getting a record deal. I'm not. I'm into my creative space and control along with building my brand. Not opposed to a deal but why wait? Get it yourself. LifesGrand247
5.Whats your opinion on the music industry today?
The music industry is like any other industry...supply and demand. I just do what I do and expect others to do the same. We all different with different expectations. Soon I'll be more noticeable in this industry and be someone they demand....God willing. "Cash Rules Everything Around Me"
6.Do you do anything else other than music?
I write poetry and I play a role in Grade School clothing.
7.Where do you see yourself in the next year?
Next year I'll be releasing my first album. I'll be on a larger platform to say what I am here to say. Maybe I'll cut back on these hoes and settle for a nice wholesome young lady. Haha. I plan to have gained some respect and a few ears by this time next year.
8.What projects are you promoting now?
I am currently promoting my project "The HeART Gallery". This is on my website. Www.TWALKEROFFICIAL.com also Chedda Chapp "The Empty Theater" coming soon. LifesGrand247

Bellz

1.What made you start wanting to make music?
I've always had a passion for music for as long as i can remember. I would hear songs on the radio and think to myself "I wish I had thought of that first" or something like that.

2.Where do you get your inspiration from?
As far as my inspirations, I actually get inspired quite easily just off of life situations itself. May sound crazy to some, but my mood can inspire me. With me having a pretty good ear for sound anyway, nature can become a beat to me.

3.What equipment do you use?
I started off making beats on my playstation a LONG time ago on this video game called "Music Generator". Then I upgraded to "Fruity Loops", now I'm currently using Reason 4 and of course practice makes perfect over time.

4.Who are some of the artists you worked with?
I'm part of a group called "FRAT House" that I produce for all the time. I currently have some things in the works with a few local artists such as Kayo Bracey & ILLPO and a few others.
5.Where can we hear some of your beats?
I keep my website updated quite often at www.beatsbybellz.com.

Nicodemous

1.Where are you from?
Born in St Louis, MO and I migrated to Greensboro,NC at an early age.We moved into a middle
class neighborhood where life struggles of a youngin soon took over.Being from the middle of
the map has allowed me to experience many genres of music. Ten toes down and tar heels on
the pavement. "CAROLINA MY HOME"
2.Who do you compare yourself to in the music industry?
No one. I take an array of music and emotion ,and match them to a beat. I devote most of my
time to my craft which is a mix between soulful and southern rap.I adapt when it comes to
features and stay myself on everything. I dont speak on what i dont have, seen, or been through.
I have an utmost respect for rap as a whole and the culture we strive so hard to keep alive.
Going through trials and tribulations makes me realize that everyday is a song for me.

3.What seperates you from other independent artist?
I'm me even on holidays. I follow no one style but, keep up with the times. I'm an out-the-box
artist that is not scared to try new things.Content is everything. I like when artist let their minds
loose. Having people relate to your music and sending a message all at once captures my ear.
4.Where do you get your inspiration from?
I get my inspiration from my mother, hardships, pain, and everyday life. Seeing my mother
endure single parenting with health issues toughened my thoughts on life aswell. And she did
it all with a smile. Im also inspired by my surroundings,my family(street and blood),and all
what Ive witnessed. My father, 2 sisters,my bruh, and my nephew play a big part in it too.
5.Whats your opinion on the music industry today?
I feel that it is being saturated by opinions and not love of the art. Music moves people.
Music is healing. Music is an outlet to life's struggles and is also a way of life.Still at the end
of the day, [it's] politics as usual.
6.Where do you see yourself in the next year?
Still working towards a stable future. Priorities sometimes has a way of blocking your dreams.
But, for the love of my craft, I can't stop. Although it is unseen, I feel my next step in success.
7.What project are you promoting now?
In The Nic Of Time Vol. I, Mind Sex the mixtape, and So Let It Be Written, So Let It Be Done
the album, coming soon. CHURCH!

Small Change

1.Where are you from?
Winston-Salem, NC
2.Who do you compare yourself to in the music industry?
I really havent been told that I remind poeple of anybody. I guess I am in my own lane. I would love to get mentioned alongside an artist that has had an extensive career though.
3.Where do you get your inspiration from?
I get my inspiiration from the things that I see everday and the events that have made me who I am. Seeing artist from North Carolina make it to that next step is really what keeps me going.
4.What separates you from other independent artist?
My grind is what seperates me from other artist. I keep my circle small but be everywhere at the same time. I don't fit the mold that people inour area are used to so I stand out just a little bit.
5.Whats your opinion on the music industry today?
The music industry is business and politics if that's what you are into then, the music industry is fine. If not, then the industry is reallya bunch of BS that I can do without. I am aiming to stay independent as long as I can until there is no excuse to why i am not signed to a major label.
6.Do you do anything else other than music?
I have a graphic designing business GFX4DALOW, I shoot viral & music videos Small Change Graphics & Films, I host parties all over NC, I consult with artist & I promote underground music as much as possible through various marketing techniques.
7.Where do you see yourself in the next year?
I see myself traveling to other states with artist that I have worked with here in Carolina next year. Some of the artist that I have developed a relationship are planning to on tour & some have moved to other states, so I am going to visit & travel & possibly get on some of these tours.
8.What projects are you promoting now?
Big Money Small Change is the focus for me right now. This record is actually bigger than what it seems. We were able to bring 3 entertainment companies together to make a single that could acually be a hit. I am also working closely with Lil Drex & Prime "Eat City/So Fresh" (through Small Change Graphics & Films) they are doing big things around the area right now.
9.Who are some of the artists you worked with?
First off Blue Ice is the man behind my production, recording & engineering. I have worked with almost everyone in Winston-Salem in some form or fashion. I don't think that there is enough room to name everyone., but I will say that one of my favorite experiences was working with Esquenee.

Blaque Bird

1.Where are you from?
I'm from Greensboro, North Carolina.....ya dig?
2.Who do you compare yourself to in the music industry?
If I had to compare myself to someone I still wouldn't but I'll say that I can see myself on the same bill as Miguel, Elle Varner, Melanie Fiona, Jasmin Sullivan.....
3.What separates you from other independent artist?
Probably the fact that I'm hungry and I've been representing myself, by myself for years. Only resently have I started to gain some partners here and there but I'm in it for the soul love for it. Its my spiritual haven in more ways than one and while other artist are willing to "sell out" so to speak in order to sell it, I'm more so choosing to share my gift to the world.
4.Whats your opinion on the music industry today?
I believe that the industry is still stuck on the superficial image of success and beauty and our children are suffering from it in the worst way because now they have a false idea of what their self image is suppose to be. We have become so engulfed in the "look" of it that the music has become either shamelessly distastful or intriguely aweful. I could go into detail and surely I don't feel this way about ALL of todays music but there's not enough space on the page.
5.Where do you see yourself in the next year?
Next year I should be graduating from North Carolina A&T with a bachelors in broadcast production and preparing to make a move out of the state soon. I'm planning on producing a few productions at that time as well as being a feature on an independent tour. Don't want to speak too much on it because the projects are still in development.
6.Where do you get your inspiration from?
My inspiration derives from a number of things from industry influences such as Ceelo Green and Donny Hathaway to name some randoms to simple "haters" if u say. You know the ones who always have something to say....yeah those folk. General life as I know because I'm soley speaking from one point of view hoping that people can relate and understand, whether they agree or not.
7.What projects are you promoting now?
Right now I'm still pushing the Blaque Ray'D'yo mixtape entitled the Juke Joint. Working on the second Blaque Ray'D'yo mixtape as well as a solo EP both due out some time in the winter.

Northside Blakk

1.What made you start wanting to make music?
Back when I was just rapping, my cousin Venjence was the
only one producing for our orignal group so I decided to
take a little pressure off his hands and took interest in
making beats myself so I could better help the group as well
as other local artists around me that were in need of a
different type of sound
2.Where are you from?
Greensboro, NC born and raised
3.Where do you get your inspiration from?
I get my inspiration from a lot of different things, my family
mainly. Just hearing them constantly tell me how much I've
progressed over the years and how much I should continue
to grind is enough for me, but I also get inspired by
observing most of the other local talent in my city and how
hard I see them grinding. The competition drives me to
want to do more and come out on top of it all.
4.What equipment do you use?
For now I've grown really fond with FL Studio (Fruity Loops
for those who don't know what that is) but I'm in the
process of learning how to work reasons & pro tools as well.
5.Who are some of the artists you worked with?
As far as producing goes I've worked plenty of artists
out of my MOA Ent. camp such as Redd, Graffiti Fresh,
FlyGuySeef, Venjence and a few others, but I've also
worked with Monster TUN and BlacVillin from DFDO, CeVille
from MoneyTownInc, I've produced a couple tracks for
Queen, one of Atlanta's upcoming female artists, and I have
plans on working with a lot more artists in the near future
6.Where can we hear some of your beats?
I usually keep everyone updated on the whereabouts of
my tracks and instrumentals on twitter & youtube
